Make sure you describe fully to your doctor what it is you are experiencing. Is the knee pain below the knee cap? Is it behind the knee or in front? Is it to the side? Do you feel like it is a problem with the cartilage of the joint, or is it a ligament or tendon issue? It could just be muscle inflammation. Are you having knee pain even after you’ve received knee surgery? You have to provide the specialist with enough details so he or she can pin point the problem to the correct cause. Knowing the cause allows you to avoid it in the future.
